| Enthusiasm marks national integration day | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 23: As a part of National Integration Week celebrations, a scintillating function was organised at Ranbir Higher Secondary School Jammu today. Students from various educational institutions presented cultural programmes on the occasion to depict the rich cultural heritage of our country. Commissioner/Secretary Education Mr. G. A. Peer was the chief guest on the occasion. Among others, the Director School Education Jammu Mrs. Zahida khan, CEO Jammu, Principals, teachers and students of various educational institutions were also present on the occasion. Peer in his address highlighted on the rich cultural heritage of our country and the importance of a united nation in facing the challenges ahead. He also exhorted the youth to come forward and put their united efforts in shaping the future of a strong and prosperous India .He appreciated the efforts of the teachers and students in organizing such events. He said that such cultural programs help in making youth aware of the rich legacy and culture they have inherited. Earlier in her welcome note Director School Education Mrs Zahida Khan appreciated the teachers and students for putting their efforts in organizing the event and helping disseminate the message of unity and brotherhood in the society A cultural bonanza comprising of dance, songs and play by students which highlighted the importance of national integration. Students also presented their views on the significance of national integration and the role of students in preserving and strengthening the unity of the country by rising above the barriers of religion and regionalism. |
