11/24/2008 12:15:25 AM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Nov 23: Congress, PDP, BJP and the so called BSP have nothing to show to the people as to what they have done for the people of the state barring false promises and hollow slogans, said Ajay Sadhotra, Provincial President J&K National Conference while addressing a public meeting at Brij Nagar in R.S. Pura Constituency, here today.
The coalition partners, he said, during their six years of rule brought unemployment, corruption, and administrative anarchy, which shattered the whole administrative setup and created chaos and confusion.
Sadhotra said the coalition government which came into power in 2002 by raising hollow slogans and making false promises did not address the problem of unemployment with the result that today there is restlessness among the youth.
He said the first priority of the National Conference will be to take youth of the state out of hopelessness and despair by redressing the unemployment problem and for that, he said, the party will come out with a special package for employment of the youth and shall open new avenues for the young unemployed and ensure that in each household of the state there is at least one earning hand and the youth will be provided with stipend till they are provided jobs.
Rattan Lal Gupta, Sr. Vice President while addressing the public meeting said the coalition government had utterly failed to curb the sky rocketing price rise of the essential commodities, which burdened the common man and added more miseries to the people. He said National Conference after coming to power will ensure that burden put on the common man by the price hike of essentialities is reduced and would also subsidize LPG and power tariff.
Ramesh Motan, Party's candidate from R.S Pura also addressed the meeting and urged the voters to vote in his favour.
On the occasion a large number of people led by Sashi Sharma joined National Conference and pledged to work for the party.
Ajay Sadhotra welcomed the new entrants into the party fold and hoped that with their joining into the party, the party will be further strengthened in R.S. Pura.
Those who joined the party on the occasion included Sashi Sharma, Vijay Sharma, Rajinder Kour, Kamla Devi, Rondu Ram, Shiv Ram, Ch. Noor Hussain and Behari Lal.
