| Advisor visits Tulip garden | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 24: Srinagar, November 24- An amount of Rs. 2.50 crore are being incurred on the development of Tulip Garden at Siraj Bagh Srinagar. This information was given to Advisor to Governor Mr. H.H. Tyabji who visited the garden and inspected various development activities being carried there. Director Floriculture, Director Agriculture and other senior officers accompanied the Advisor. The Advisor also visited Shalimar garden and inspected renovation works there. He also visited Floriculture Model Centre Nunar, Ganderbal where the Lilium bulbs are being propagated. The Advisor was told that the Farm managed by Agriculture department Kashmir spread over an area of 170 kanal and produces about 4 lakh bulbs annually. The bulbs are distributed to the farmers within and outside the state. On the occasion, Director Agriculture said a further 60 kanals of land would be brought under Lilium cultivation this year. |
