| Dangers looming large across country: Gupta | | | EARLY TIMES REPORTER JAMMU | SEPT 14 The former Union Minister and BJP senior leader Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta has said that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India but it was unfortunate that Government at the Centre is not serious about the dangers looming larger for unity and integrity of the country. Hence, there is need for general awareness and strengthening of the voices of nationalism and patriotism, both in the State as also elsewhere in the country. Addressing 18th anniversary of martyrdom of Pandit Tiku Lal Taploo, Prof. Gupta said that it was highly intriguing that a great-dedicated activist of the BJP, Taploo was shot dead in day light on the day of September 13, 1989. This inaction and mysterious silence on part of the National Conference Congress coalition of the time had resulted in mass migration of Kashmiri Pandits and other minorities from Kashmir Valley in a helpness situation, he added and observed that since then the leadership of Kashmir has behaved in a dubious manner. Prof. Gupta recalled that since migration of the minorities these pseudo secularists have been for pubic postures stating that Kashmir is incomplete without Kashmiri Pandits but little was done in practical for their rehabilitation with honor and dignity in the Valley of Kashmir. He alleged for practical purposes rather those schemes were scuttled which were drawn by the center during the NDA rule envisaging the Action Plan of Rs. 2800 Crores. He questioned the secular credentials of the government leaders including those of the congress and others that they should explain why no arrangement was made to protect the properties of these migrants especially when they are still having a full-fledged Custodian Department for protecting the properties of those who had migrated to Pakistan and opted for citizenship of that country as far back as 58 years ago.
