| Charak seeks votes on development, peace | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 24: Carrying forward his election campaign, senior Congress leader and former minister Gulchain Singh Charak today addressed a series of election rallies in Bishnah constituency. Addressing gatherings, Charak said that the progress registered in two and a half years of the Congress led government has been quite impressive and this fact has widely been appreciated by the people of the state. He said it was during this regime that strong effort was made not only to implement the CMP but untiring efforts were made to mitigate the peoples’ sufferings. Congress is credited to have brought about a sea change on the development front as well as in normalizing relations with the neighbouring country Pakistan, he said and added that opening of Srinagar- Muzaffarbad and Poonch-Rawalakote roads and establishment of trade links with Pakistan were note worthy. Charak appealed the people to vote for Congress party which has a history in the country to lead the nation to new heights of progress, peace and prosperity and assured that the party is seized of the problems and would not lag behind in mitigating these at the earliest. |
