Badminton: Tamanpreet wins U-10 girls’ title

JAMMU, Nov 24: Tamanpreet Kour clinched the under-10 girls singles title beating Apurva Gupta in straight sets 21-8, 21-12, 21-9 in the final of 23rd Jammu City and District Badminton Championships underway at Indoor Complex, M A Stadium, here today.
Earlier, in the semi-final, Tamanpreet defeated Dehar 21-6, 21-7 while Apurva trounced Falak 21-15, 21-13 to make it into the final.
In under-10 year boys singles event, D S Shivam and Natin have entered the final. In semifinals, Shivam beat Mehul 21-4, 21-5 and Natin bt Akhil 27-25, 19-21, 21-10.
Meanwhile, semi-finals line-up has been drawn in mini boys’ singles event. In the quarterfinals, played this afternoon, D S Shubam trounced Shubam 21-6, 21-12; Nirbhay bt Parath 21-12, 21-8; Abhay bt Owais 21-6, 21-9 and Sarvgya Bargotra beat Akhil Khajuria 21-15, 21-14.

Sub-junior boys singles: Punit bt Ishant chandel 21-7, 21-5; Manish bt Aman Gupta 21-19, 21-15; Ayush bt Nafeez 21-10, 21-8; Akash bt Shourya Jain 21-6, 21-7; Chander bt Rishav Mahajan 21-5, 21-1; D S Shubam bt Measum Atri 21-3, 21-0; Aman bt Aryaman Mahajan 21-3, 21-4.
Mini boys doubles: Abhay and Parth bt Manik and Tanav 21-12, 21-6; DS Shivam and Sarvgya bt Owais and Rajat 21-15, 21-8; D S Sarvgya bt Raghav and Raghav 21-4, 21-9; Owais and Rajat bt Isran and Sareem 21-23, 21-14, 21-17; Paramveer and Nirbhay bt Hardik and Shubam 22-20, 21-12; Abhay and Parth bt Nirbhay and Paramveer 21-15, 21-17.
