The inspector of Metrology department, Ramesh Chander along in his team laid a raid on a retail wine shop at R.S. Pura near bus stand yesterday and challenged the owner for selling liquor on higher rated then prescribed under weight and measure enforcement act.
According to reports the shopkeeper use to sell of bottle of Thunderbolt beer of 650 ml at Rs. 58 instead of Rs. 56 and a Gin Rum bottle of 375ml at Rs. 75, while as the actual rate of the bottler in Rs. 71. The customers have hailed the efforts of inspector Ramesh Chander and hope in future also the department will keep check on wine traders.
