Doda, Nov 26: Friends have turned into foes and relatives have become antagonistic this is what politics is showing now a day. Once happened to be friends Abdul Majid Wani, Congress candidate is contesting against National Conference candidate Khalid Najeeb Sohawardhy. Whereas two (Step) real brothers Ishtiak Ahmed Wani, Bhartiya Janta Party candidate and Ghulam Qadir Wani from Samajwadi Party were in front of each other.
Since the announcement of Assembly polls, the scenario has been totally changed in this hilly belt. People in every nook and corner have become used to speak politics so what if they do not know the ABCD of politics. They are the same people who a fortnight before were speaking boycott call but now they are showing their keen interest in predicting poll percentage or winning candidate. Keeping in view the last year’s assembly elections result this time it will be more close fight between the candidates. As the number of candidates has risen and almost all political parties are trying their luck this time. It is worth to mention that once considered the hot potato for NC party too shifted from the party and had elected Ab Majid Wani, an Independent candidate at that time. This time too people has decided to give the close fight between the front runner candidates including Abdul Majid Wani, Congress, Khalid Najeeb Shuwardy, NC, Ghulam Qadir Wani, SP, Ishtiak Wani, BJP and Atta Mohd. Khan, PDP.
It believes of political advisors, it is said that people of this isolated district has vested their faith on Ghulam Nabi Azad as he is the first Chief Minister from Jammu region as well as from Doda district. People believe that it is the golden chance to bring this hilly belt from back seat and enjoy their due share as well. Posting faith on Congress candidate Mohd Saleem said that during Congress Government a number of projects were started which were in cold store. Moreover he said that people have faith on their leader Majid Wani and this time too he will win with great number of votes.
On the other side NC candidate too has applied his all efforts for retaining his seat and has great number of people’s support as well. |
