Jammu reigisters their second consecutive win

Distt. Jammu defeated Pulwama by one wicket to registertheir second consecutive win in the ongoing State Level Inter District Cricket tournament for U/19 boys being played at Jammu University here today. Pulwama won the toss and decided to bat first. They made 78 runs in 20 overs. Rameez was the top scorer with 37 runs. For Jammu, Ankit grabbed three wickets while Dilawar took two wickets. In reply, Jammu reached the winning target of 79 runs in 23.4 overs. Manik, Akash and Abhinav scored 16, 14 and 12 runs respectively. For Pulwama, Zahoor snared three wickets for 11 runs whereas Wasim took two wickets. In the second match, Kathua outclassed Poonch by six wickets. Poonch was bundled out for 75 runs in 17 overs. Kathua reached the winning target of 76 runs in19 overs. Tarang and Rakesh were the top scorers with 21 and 13 runs respectively. For Poonch, Shah Nawaz, Jatinder and Mushtaq took one wicket respectively. In the third match, Doda defeated Anantnag by two wickets. Anantnag after winning the toss made 126 runs in 23.5 overs. In reply, Doda chased the winning target of 127 runs in 25 overs. Mohinder Singh was the top scorer with 48 runs while Asif contributed useful 23 runs. For Anantnag, Imitiaz, Kaful and Saquib took two, one and one wickets respectively. Before the start of the match, the players were introduced with S.S. Bali Assistant Director of the Youth Services and Sports deptt. The tournament has been organized by the deptt. Of Youth Services and Sports under the overall supervision of B.N. Bhatt Youth Services and Sports Officer Jammu district.
