| Inter-college hockey semis today | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 26: Semi-finals line-up has been drawn in the ongoing inter-college men’s hockey tournament organized by the Department of Physical Education, University of Jammu at K K Hakhu Stadium, here today. Teams making into the semi-finals are Post Graduate Departments of Arts, Government MAM College, GGM Science College and Degree College Poonch. Now, in the semi-finals, to be played tomorrow, GGM Science College shall take on MAM College while the defending champions, PG Departments shall face Degree College Poonch at 11 am. Earlier, in the first semi-finals, played this morning, PG Arts trounced Government SPMR College of Commerce by seven goals to one. Pawan Kumar Sharma helped PG make it a big win contributing three goals. He struck in 15th, 29th and 69th minute of the match. Harnik Singh also played well netting the ball twice in the 65th and 70th minute. Vivek Sharma (36th) and Harvinderpal Singh (38th) added one goal each. From Commerce College, Jasbir Singh scored the lone goal in the 55th minute. GGM Science College reached the semi-finals getting a bye in the first round and walkover in next round of quarterfinals. Today’s semi-final was officiated by P S Singh, Jagjit Singh and D Singh. Meanwhile, according to a handout issued by the Departemnt of Physical Education, the selection trials for inter-university men and women chess teams shall take lace on November 28 at the Department at 11 am. |
