As against J&K total of 143 in 55.2 overs in the first innings, Himachal looked confident at 113 for four in 33 overs. Though host managed two early wickets of Himachal, bowling out openers on duck, yet they failed to contain Munish Sharma and Nakul Raj, the two unbeaten batsmen, from building a good partnership. When the stumps were drawn, Munish Sharma and Nakul Raj were playing confidently at 31and 46 (off 60 balls) runs in their respective accounts. Earlier, openers, Bhawani Singh and Prashant Chopra lost their wickets without opening their accounts. Earlier, Himachal Pradesh won the toss and opted to field.
