| Use latest equipments: Phunsog tells JKPCC | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, NOV 27: 84th Board of Directors meeting of Jammu and Kashmir Project Construction Corporation (JKPCC) was held under the chairmanship of Advisor to Governor, Mr. C. Phunsog here today. The meeting reviewed physical and financial achievements registered by the corporation during last two years in the state, besides the annual accounts report of the corporation was also discussed in the meeting. Financial Commissioner Planning and Development, Mr. S. L. Bhat, Principal Secretary to PWD, Mr. A. K. Angurana, Commissioner Secretary Health and Medical Education, Mr. Atul Duloo, Commissioner Secretary Higher Education, Mr. Khazar Ahmad Wani, Secretary Education Department, Mr. G. A. Peer, Chief Engineer R&B Kashmir, Mr. Mohammad Shafi Mir, Chief Engineer R&B Jammu, Mr. Nazir Ahmad and Managing Director JKPCC, Mr. Daleep Thusoo attended the meeting as Directors of the Board. The meeting took various decisions to streamline the working of the Corporation. Phunsog appreciated the functioning of the Corporation and enjoined upon the concerned authorities to double their efforts and complete the execution of various ongoing projects within time bound manner. He asked for use of latest construction equipments and machinery in the execution of projects and also directed close monitoring for use of standard in the projects by the concerned authorities. The meeting was informed that the Corporation has constructed 33 hospitals in the state amongst which 14 have been already made functional and another 10 are likely to be completed by December 2008. The Corporation completed 20 bridges out of 55 taken up by it and 7 new Degree Colleges, 9 it is it is have been also completed during the period. The meeting was told that the main achievements of the Corporation have been completion of Assembly complex at Srinagar in 9 months. Gandhi Nagar hospital, Dental College Jammu, Emergency Block, Government Medical College, Jammu have been also completed in a record period of time 12 months by the Corporation. |
