| Bhalla flays BJP for playing politics of emotional blackmailing | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Nov 27: Accusing Bhartiya Janta Party of playing politics of emotional blackmailing with the sole objective to consolidate its vote bank, senior Congress leader and party candidate from Gandhi Nagar constituency, Raman Bhalla, maintained that Congress party alone has the potential of addressing the aspirations of the people belonging to different regions of the state. Addressing series of public meetings across Gandhi Nagar constituency today, Bhalla criticized the BJP for playing emotional card to befool the people in order to strengthen their political base. ‘The party is trying its best to gain public support by arousing emotions of the people but the people are well aware of their tricks and would definitely give them a befitting reply in the ongoing election’, he said and added that the past deeds of BJP proves that they have nothing to do with the development of Jammu. Lambasting the BJP for pretending to be worried about the national integration, the Congress candidate said that despite being in the office at the centre, they never dared to extend any central laws to the state and maintained that it was Congress which scrapped the permit system as back as in 1957. Stressing upon the people to vote in his favour, Bhalla said that the entire Gandhi Nagar area has witnessed phenomenal development during his tenure of five and a half years and assured that he would continue to serve the people in more befitting manner, if elected. |
