EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 27: Defeating the defending champion, Government MAM College 4-2, the GGM Science College today made it into the final of ongoing inter-college hockey tournament organized at K K Hakhu Stadium here by Department of Physical Education, University of Jammu. Now, in the final, to be played tomorrow, Science College shall face the last year’s finalist, Post Graduate Departments of Arts team at 11 am. Earlier, in the semi-finals, PG Departments trounced Degree College Poonch 4-1. Arvinder Pal Singh struck twice in the 23rd and 50th minute while Pawan Kumar Sharma and Harmeet Singh converted penalty corners into goals in 32nd and 44th minutes respectively. Ranmeet Singh scored the only goal from Poonch College. In the second semi-final, Science College outplayed title holders, MAM College by four goals to two. Devinder Singh, Arunvir Singh, Gagandeep Singh and Navneet Singh scored the goals for winners Science College while Gokul Khajuria missed the penalty stroke. From MAM College, Amandeep Singh and Maninder Pal Singh were the scorers. |
