Failing to give Govt jobs, Raj Bhawan launches another portal for unemployed youth
Aspirants seek PM Modi’s intervention

Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 12: Having allegedly “failed” to give the much-needed government jobs, the Raj Bhawan has launched another portal for the youth of Jammu and Kashmir with the unemployed calling it “another crude joke.” The youth have sought intervention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
On April 11, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha launched a dedicated portal of Mission Youth in collaboration with Vision India, to connect the youth of J&K with the industry amid “much of hype about the event.”
Whereas the Raj Bhawan had promised 50,000 government jobs to tackle growing unemployment in Jammu and Kashmir, instead of deliverance of that promise, the newly launched portal aims at offering 10,000 jobs in private sector.
A government handout said: “The initiative aims to provide more than 10,000 job opportunities to the youth in 2022. The dedicated portal – AVSAR-‘Connect to Opportunities Initiative’– has been provisioned to facilitate our youth with real-time information flow notifying students about pre-placement activities & job opportunities. All ITIs & other technical institutions in the UT will be on-boarded in the program for achieving the best outcomes for our enterprising youths.”
"Jammu and Kashmir administration is determined to
Kya Huwa Tera Wada!
provide quality education, skill training and better employment to the youth", the Lt Governor said on the launch of online portal dedicated to connect youth with job opportunities.
But the unemployed youth accused the Raj Bhawan of being insensitive towards the promises of government jobs as were made since 2019 that 50,000 posts would be filled.
It’s pertinent to mention that Jammu and Kashmir has been recently ranked second highest in unemployment rate in the country at 46 per cent.
The "Periodic Labour Force Survey April-June 2021" released by the statistics and programme implementation ministry told the shocking figures some time ago.
The unemployed youth said the government has “become so insensitive towards the alarming unemployment that launch of mere portals was being shown as something great.”
“The Raj Bhawan has money to spend on such launch events and development of such portals but it has no money to employ youth.
This is ridiculous state of affairs,” the youth said.
They appealed Prime Minister Narendra Modi to “order a probe into how many such websites and events the Raj Bhawan has been holding but without giving any jobs in reality.”
“We want the intervention of Modi Ji because we have full faith in him,” the youth said.
