| Absentees warned of strict action | | Three-member committee inspects several offices in Ramgarh area | |
JAMMU SEPT-14- The three-member committee constituted by the government to monitor punctuality in offices and to restore work culture, today made surprise inspection of several offices in Ramgarh sector. The committee has taken serious view of the employees for duping government money without performing the duties for which they are pad. The 3-member committee consisting SDM Samba R K Gupta, SDPO Samba Abrar Choudhry and Principal Government Boys High School Samba Tilak Raj inspected GHSS, Government High school, Office of Municipality, RCD center Agriculture Extension Office and Naib Tehsildar’ office all located at Ramgarh. During their visit to RCD Centre, the committee found Veterinary Assistant Surgeon Dr A C Bhagat was absent from duty and on inquiry it was stated that he had gone to Jammu office. Surprisingly when his senior in Jammu was contacted on phone he said that neither the doctor concerned has attended this office nor was he directed to report here. The assistant surgeon is however reported to have rushed back to his office around 11 am to avoid any drastic action. During the inspection of Ramgarh Municipality the committee found not a single official out of 6-7 officials posted there present except the peon. The attendance register was locked in the almirah and the office clerk too was absent. Similarly, in Agriculture Extension office, the committee found that nine officials out of 13 were on leave. Of these, only two officials had got their leave sanctioned and all others were absconding from duty unauthorizedly. Their leave applications were unsigned and not sanctioned by the competent authority. These leave applications might have been put up in proxy after they came to know that the team was on a surprise visit. It is worthwhile to mention here that District Development Commissioner, Jammu, on the directions of the Government, had constituted a committee to ensure punctuality in government offices and to restore work culture.
