| J&K has delayed thoughts on VP | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 28: The Jammu and Kashmir government today announced a three-day state mourning as a mark of respect to former Prime Minister V P Singh, an official spokesman here said. Lost in the election din, the Jammu and Kashmir Government apparently had a belated realization that a former Prime Minister of India has passed away. There was not even word on demise of VP Singh on Thursday when he passed away earlier in the afternoon. It was only this morning that the Government announced a state mourning. "The state will observe three days mourning and national and state flags on all buildings will fly at half past during these days," the spokesman said. 77-year-old Singh died in New Delhi yesterday after battling blood cancer for over 17 years and renal failure. |
