Chaman promises doles to employees
11/29/2008 11:04:31 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Nov 29: BJP leader Prof Chaman Lal Gupta on Saturday made an attempt to woo state government employees awaiting implementation of the recommendations of the sixth pay commission in Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing a press conference here at the party headquarters Dr Gupta, contesting Jammu west Assembly segment, lambasted coalition government for failing to come to the rescue of state government employees and also pointed fingers at the Governor’s administration for delaying implementation of the sixth pay commission recommendations despite receiving green signal from the Election Commission of India. Prof Gupta said that the state government has failed to address genuine issues concerning state government employees. He said it is most unfortunate that the state administration is insensitive to their needs and not moving in the right direction.
Highlighting several other issues relating to employee welfare, Prof Gupta trained his guns on the former Congress Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad for misleading the employees and not doing enough to ensure their well being.
