| Omar says, Mufti leads politics of deceit | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Gool/Gulabgarh Nov 29: Omar Abdullah, President National Conference said that Mufti Mohd Syeed and PDP has always indulged in a politics of deceit and used all dubious machinations to create political turmoil and un-stability in the state of Jammu & Kashmir . Addressing a series of meetings in Dharam, Judda and Chasana in Gool Arnas and Gulabgarh constituencies in support of Gh. Qadir Mughal and Abdul Gani Malik party's candidate from the constituencies, Omar said that Mufti tried to break the National Conference in 2002 by luring the National Conference MLAs but did not succeed unlike in 1984. Omar said Mufti and his party have always been responsible for subverting the democratic process and creating political situations necessitating the imposition of the governor's rule. HE said fortunately now the people of Jammu & Kashmir have seen through their manipulative, self-centered politics and so shall defeat the PDP and remove it form the political scape of the state. Omar said that voted to power National Conference will restart the Sawlakote Hydroelectric project and initiate work on numerous mini and micro hydro electric projects so as to make the state self sufficient in power as also to generate adequate employment. Omar also promised that the National Conference if voted to power will fill the 40,000 posts lying vacant in various government departments through a fast track recruitment drive. Omar said it is unfortunate that the erstwhile coalition government opened colleges and upgraded schools without creating necessary infrastructure depriving the young students of the quality education thereby playing with their career. He said the National Conference if voted to power will restructure the entire education system and make it more employment oriented and will focus on the overall personality development of the students so that they can compete with the very best in the country. Omar expressed his deep anguish at the poor health care facilities in the state and said these need to be immediately upgraded in the rural areas so that the people in the far flung areas of the state get quality health care. Among others who spoke on the occasion were Gh. Qadir Mughal, Abdul Gani Malik, Devender Singh Rana MLC, Abdul Wahid Shan and Gulzar Ahmed Wani. |
