Later, chasing a target of below three-run per over, Haryana attained the goal in 44.4 overs with five wickets in hand. Pushpa remained the top scorer with 47 runs while Lipsa Sayal contributed 28 and Neeru made 30 runs. Skipper, Roopali Slathia and Neeru Manhas shared two wickets each.
Today’s was J&K’s fourth consecutive loss in the North Zone competitions. In earlier matches, J&K women lost to Himachal Pradesh by four wickets, surrendered before Delhi losing by nine wickets and were beaten by Punjab by eight wickets.
“The team is well equipped in all three departments of batting, bowling and fielding, but what we lack is match temperament. In fact, lack of competition both at Jammu and Srinagar in women section is what causes our loss,” captain of the J&K team and a senior cricketer, Rooplai Slathia told SAN.
