| Natrang offer comedies in its Sunday Theatre | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Nov 30: Continuing the tradition of comedy plays, Natrang today staged two comedy plays in its weekly theatre series 'Sunday Theatre'. The first play was 'Prem Visheshagya' written by famous hilarious poet and comic writer Hari Shanker Parsai. The second play was 'Khandani Gawah' written by Rajinder Kumar Sharma. Both the plays were directed by Balwant Thakur and acted by entirely a new set of Natrang actors. Play 'Prem Visheshagya' revolves round a love guru who has opened a clinic to cater to the growing demand of relationship conflicts. Claiming himself to be the last destination of all broken hearts, he confronts with such complicated cases that he himself gets trapped into similar complications. The dramatic turn comes in the play when a young girl comes to his clinic to get rid of a modern Majnu, who has sacrificed everything for her. In the process of treating the girl, the love Guru falls in her love, thus creating yet another comic situation. Who will treat if the doctor himself becomes the patient? Arvind Singh played the role of complicated doctor and Natrang's new find Manali Sharma played the role of a young girl with full confidence. Others who gave their maiden performances included Aman Khullar, Sheezan Hassan, and Vinod Khajuria. The second play 'Khandani Gawah' focuses a professional witness who runs his livelihood through posing himself differently in accordance with the situation of the case and demand. Being expert and master of the trade he hikes his fee and claims to give guaranteed results and even boasts of giving accurate legal opinion. Earlier he used to study the cases to the extent that no one could suspect his false representation. But with the growing business and demand he started taking the assignments casually and once gets trapped in a very complicated case. In one of the hearings one judge grinds him in such a manner that he fails to prove his witness so badly that he leaves this profession for ever. |
