Commandant General Civil Defence chairs meeting of Wardens

JAMMU, May 5: A meeting of Civil Defence wardens was today held at Civil Defence Control Room, Jammu. The meeting was chaired by Commandant General VHG/ Civil Defence & SDRF J&K, Jammu Hemant Kumar Lohia and attended by SSP, Randhir Singh, Staff officer to Commandant General HG/CD/SDRF, Dy. SP. Anita Pawar, Dy. Controller Civil Defence Jammu, Paramjir Kumar, Chief Warden CD Jammu, R. Vijay Mangotra Dy. Chief Warden CD Jammu, Vinod Kumar Divisional Warden CD Jammu, Jagdish Kumar Divisional Warden CD Jammu, Swarn Singh Chib Dy. Divisional Warden CD Jammu besides a number of Post wardens and Sector wardens of CD Jammu. At the outset, Dy. SP. Anita Pawar Dy. Controller CD, Jammu welcomed the Commandant General with a bouquet. She apprised the Commandant General about the CD activities carried out during the year 2021-22.
The Commandant General interacted with the CD wardens and appreciated the Civil Defence Wardens/ volunteers for their selfless services rendered for the cause of the general public. He urged the wardens to help the CD Department in formalizing the CD Committee near the border villages by seeking help from the different departments / social organizations so that people of the border areas can deal with emergency situations.
The Commandant General also listened and redressed the grievances of the Wardens. He assured that the department will establish two offices for CD wardens one at old City Jammu and one at south Jammu where CD wardens can carry out CD activities smoothly. He also assured that the Wardens posts will be strengthened and equipped with necessary equipment.
At the end of the programme Paramjit Kumar, Chief Warden, CD Jammu, presented vote of thanks.
