| Red Cross Life Members resent over functioning of Society | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 7: Life Members of District Red Cross Society expressed great resentment against the working of the Red Cross Society in district Jammu.
The Life Members alleged that the two teachers, deputed at the Red Cross Office for carrying out the activities, have deliberately neglecting them as well as the Executive Members. Both the teachers have been deputed to promote the activities of the Red Cross by consulting the Life Members and Executive Members but such things have not been followed in the District Office of the Red Cross Jammu. They were deprived from participation in any such programmes being conducted by the organization as they have not been updated about any information about the prorammes.
World Red Cross Day is falling on May 8 but till date nor the Life Members as well as nor the Executive Member have been consulted to finalize the programme to be celebrated on that day. It seems to be the mockery of the rules and regulations of the Red Cross Society.
The Life Members also expressed great disappointment against the Deputy Commissioner Jammu, who is the Executive Chairperson of Indian Red Cross Society District Branch Jammu, for not holding the Executive Body meeting to review the functioning of the Jammu District Branch. Pertinent to mention here that the last the Executive Body meeting was conducted by the then Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Sushma Chouhan in November 2019 to review the functioning of the organization. After that no such meeting was conducted.
The Life Members asserted that the Red Cross Society was only interested in intensifying membership drive of the society to connect maximum number of people to get their contribution. The Life Members appealed to the Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha, Divisional Commissioner Jammu and Deputy Commissioner Jammu to look into the matter and take serious note of the functioning of the Society for deliberately ignoring them as well as the Executive Members and give necessary directions to the authorities concerned for holding Executive Body meeting on regular basis. |
