Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 7: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta on Saturday asserted that the focused attention of PM Narendra Modi led government towards J&K has emboldened the region with fortification of its infrastructure and boosting of economy.
In a statement issued to media persons, the BJP stalwart said that soon after taking over the reins of the country, the Prime Minister Modi turned towards Jammu and Kashmir and rejuvenated its financial credentials which were abysmal at that time by taking out of the box decisions to bring vibrancy in handicraft industry by creating pedestals for marketing the same into international arena, giving fillip to industry through a handsome package and allowing investment through ease of doing business initiatives and taking revolutionary steps to boost tourism by organizing conclaves and conferences at national and international levels.
The former Deputy Chief Minister said that the Modi government took marvelous steps to create robust infrastructure which earlier was in dismal shape and acted as a major hurdle in development of the region. He said that with basic infrastructure ready and the government offering ease of doing business with perfect ergonomics the progress of J&K is now a matter of days and for all this people should give credit to Modi Government which has created a platform to ensure growth and development of the region as never before. He said that the BJP Government at the centre and the J&K administration have taken significant steps in the last few years to remove impediments and expedite decisions on approvals for timely implementation of projects.
"Revival of different sectors of economy like handicraft, industrial investment, tourism and unprecedented pace in building infrastructure has given the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir enviable strength and self-confidence", Kavinder said, adding that the time has come when J&K can compete with the developed states of the country as it has acquired all parameters attained by those entities which consider themselves part of pool of developed part of the country.
"The government has ensured progress and infra development in all the sectors without any discrimination thus paving way for overall development of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir", Kavinder said and added that people should support BJP to ensure that the pace of development continues unbridled and without any break.
