JAMMU, May 7: The University of Jammu Gatka (W) team won the second position in the All India Inter-University Gakta (W) championship 2021-22, organized by the Sant Baba Bagh Singh University Jallandhar (Pb.)
The Gatka (W) team won four silver medals for the University of Jammu, one each of the FariSoti FreeStyle Team event, FariSoti Full Strike Team event, Single Soti Full Strike Team event & Single Soti Full Strike Individual event.
The 3 bronze medals, one each of the Single Soti FreeStyle Team event, Single Soti FreeStyle Individual event &FariSoti Full Strike Individual event won by the University team.
The overall All India Inter-University Gatka (W) Championship was won by the Punjabi University Patiala and the University of Jammu Gatka (W) team remained 2nd.
The JU Gatka (W) team comprises of Taran Deep Kour, Alka Sharma, Nishtha Kour, Shivanshi Arora, Tanveer Kour, Amulya Singh, Shilpa Langeh & Bhumika Sharma.
