Div Com visits Katra, holds introductory meeting with PRIs, District Officers

KATRA, May 8: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar on Sunday conducted a tour of holy town Katra of Reasi district and held an introductory meeting with public representatives and District officers here at PWD Guest house Katra.
Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Babila Rakwal; District Development Council Member Dharal, Rajinder Mengi; Block Development Council Chairperson Katra, Sham Lal Bhagat; Chairman Municipal Committee Katra besides Additional DC, ACR Reasi, Sub Divisional Magistrate Katra, ASP Reasi and other officers were also present.
During the interacting, the Divisional Commissioner inquired about the progress on various projects executed in Katra other development requirements besides threadbare discussions were held on Katra Development Plan, KBIV Project, Government Degree College Katra etc.
The Div Com asked DC for proper monitoring of all the developmental works executed in the district. He asked concerned officers to early complete land acquisition process for better execution of work on development projects. He also directed concerned officers to expedite the progress of all the developmental works for their time-bound completion.
While interacting with the locals representatives and PRIs enquired about the works taken under various schemes and work progress of ongoing developmental works in their areas. They also apprised him about certain issues and demands pertaining to their areas.
While replying to their issues, the Div Com said that the purpose of field visits is to have firsthand appraisal about the progress of ongoing works and to assess the developmental needs in the area.
Kumar retreated that the Administration is committed to ensure equal development of all areas and to ensure development works/projects are completed within set timelines, the necessary instructions are already passed.
The Div Com said that a robust mechanism has been put in place to ensure that the people get quality services besides their grievances are redressed within shortest possible time. He directed the officers to ensure prompt redressal of the issues concerning public.
The Div Com instructed officers to work with added zeal and with close coordination with PRIs for better implementation of government schemes, projects.
