JAMMU, Nov 30: District Jammu bagged the overall Vishal Sharma memorial championship trophy securing 150 points in the 10th State Taekwondo Championship organised by J&K Taekwondo Association at Indoor Complex, M A Stadium, here.
The overall runners-up Deepak memorial trophy went to district Kargil with 84 points in their account while third place went to district Budgam (Munshi Habibulla trophy) with 72 points in their tally.
The active participation trophy was awarded to district Reasi (Katra) while best sports spirit trophy went to district Srinagar.
In finals and prize distribution function of the three-day championship, Inspector General of Police, Dilbag Singh was chief guest. Vicky Mahajan, CEO Shourya Motors, Principal Banyan Tree School, Mrs S Chouhan and Principal Sprawling Buds School, Pooja Sharma were guests of honour.
Among other special guests present were Rahul Sharma, Director Sprawling Buds School, Mr Garg of Tawi Building Material Store, Bali Baltar Singh, Anoop Mittal, Ramesh Jandyal, Kewal Krishan and Neeraj Pargal.
Earlier, organizing secretary of J&K Taekwondo Association, D N Pangotra welcomed the chief guest and other distinguished gathering in the valedictory function.
The bouts were played under the overall supervision of technical director, Atul Pangotra (NIS). The technical committee was comprised of Sandeep Bansal, Gurinder Rakwal, Vivek Padha, Ajaz Rasool, Zaheer Abaas and Mohd Ali and.
