Harsh Dev gets rousing reception in Jammu on joining AAP
5/10/2022 11:19:58 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 10: Former Minister Harsh Dev Singh who had recently joined AAP in Delhi was accorded a rousing reception on his arrival in Jammu today. Thousands of supporters thronged the Jammu Airport in the afternoon and took Singh and Gaurav Sharma Jammu Parbhari in a huge procession to the office of Aam Aadmi Party in Gandhi Nagar Jammu. The processionists raised slogans of 'Kejriwal-Harsh Dev Zindabad' "Aam Aadmi Party ki yehi Nishani, Muft Bijli, Muft Paani", "Harsh Dev Aage Bado, Hum apke saath hain", "Gaurav Sharma Zindabad", "Yashpaul Kundal Zindabad" etc. The huge procession resulted in road blockade and suspension of vehicular traffic on the said route for over five hours. Other prominent faces who had joined AAP in Delhi and accompanied Harsh Dev Singh included Rajesh Padgotra, Gagan Pratap Singh, Parshotam Parihar and Sudesh Dogra.
Addressing media persons, Harsh Dev Singh said that he had met Arvind Kejriwal, National Convenor AAP and Chief Minister Delhi, Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, MP Sanjay Singh and J&K Incharge Durgesh Pathak besides various other Ministers and Parliamentarians of AAP in Delhi who had all assured to contribute their might for development, peace and prosperity of J&K.
Singh said that he had apprised Mr. Kejriwal about the scenario prevailing in J&K and given his suggestions for steering the erstwhile state out of crisis. He said that J&K had been rattled due to the reckless experimentation of the present regime during the last few years. With mal-governance galore, the economy, trade, tourism and general development had received the deadliest blow during the last few years. The power and water crisis had created massive resentment against the government in the entire UT. A deep rooted culture of patronized corruption was prevalent in the UT with the general masses having lost their faith in the prolonged central rule forced over the erstwhile state for the last more than 3½ years. The unemployed and the other under-employed youth were the most disappointed lot with the govt treating them as mere expendables. He said that absorption of educated unemployed youth in gainful employment, regularization of DRWs and contractuals would be the priority of the AAP in the days to come.
Gaurav Sharma Parbhari Jammu welcomed Harsh Dev Singh in Party fold and expressed the hope that Party would benefit by his immense experience and political sagacity. He appealed to all the Party activists to give in their best and work in tandem to strengthen the Party at the grass-root level. He said that AAP would emerge as the strongest and biggest Party in J&K in the days to come.
