Weekly Block Diwas: DDC Rajouri presides over public grievances redressal camp at Lamberi

RAJOURI, May 11: To hear and redress public grievances at the people's doorsteps District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal today chaired a public grievances redressal camp organised as a part of weekly Block Diwas here at Lamberi.
During the event, the public and their representatives raised a number of issues and demands of their areas seeking macadamization of roads, upgradation of Govt institutions, paucity of staff, better health care facilities etc.
Specific issues highlighted during the event included Water Augmentation schemes under Jal Jeevan Mission, clearance of MGNREGA liability, release of installment in favour of PMAY houses, restoration of Lift irrigation canal at WNo; fresh survey for PMAY to cover left out eligible households, sanctioning of Dandani to Suit Bridge, holding of special camps for issuing pahari speaking certificates, adequate staff in schools, survey of tribal population in the Panchayats etc.
Some more demands projected were meeting shortage of drinking water, land compensation for NH144-A, enforcement of fixed rates of construction materials, connectivity of main road with Plassi Hill road, ambulance for PHC Garan, Grid station at Rajal feeder for Gharan to be commissioned, shortage of drinking water at Garan etc.
Public also demanded construction of Garan to Sialsui road, start of work on Dandesar to Patrari road, shortage of staff, panchayat Ghar, toilets at schools in panchayat Rajal, biometric system in SDH to be ensured, maintenance of NH144A, inclusion of left out beneficiaries under State marriage assistance scheme etc.
Officers of different departments also briefed the public about different schemes and motivated them to avail the benefits of the same. They also responded to the queries pertaining to their departments raised by the public during the event.
Responding to issue of scarcity of water, the SE Hydraulics informed that 08 schemes under Jal Jeevan Mission have been sanctioned for the block and allotment will be made in a few days
The DDC gave a patient hearing to all the issues projected by the public during the event and assured them that all their genuine concerns would be redressed in a phased manner.
Underlining the objective of the block diwas, he said that this public outreach event is aimed at better coverage of government schemes, enhanced interaction with common man and effective monitoring of the developmental projects.
Seeking the cooperation of the public in the developmental process, the DDC urged the public to work side by side with the district administration for the peace, prosperity and development of the district.
Highlighting several Govt schemes and programs meant for the welfare of the general public, he urged the people to come forward and avail the benefits of the same.
Stressing on close coordination between the frontline workers and public representatives, he asked them to work in tandem for the prompt delivery of essential services and holistic and sustainable development of the region.
He also asked the concerned officers to gear up their field machinery and ensure that the difficulties of the people are addressed and resolved at the earliest.
