Weekly Block Diwas meetings held across Doda district

DODA, May 11: As a part of the weekly Block Diwas initiative launched by the Government of J&K, several teams of senior level officers of District administration today conducted public outreach programmes here across the district to listen to the issues of public and the PRIs.
The officers gave away loan sanction letters to 198 eligible unemployed youth under different self-employment schemes in the Block Diwas meetings.
As many as 100 grievances/ applications were received at all locations out of which 90 were disposed of on the spot. Besides, 51 Domicile certificates, 21 Category certificates, 16 revenue extracts, 8 birth/ death certificates were issued to the eligible beneficiaries.
The public outreach programmes were held at High School Chagsoo Tehsil Bhella (Thathri), Panchayat Ghar Thandapani, Cherota-A (Assar), Panchayat Ghar Dugli-B ( Bhaderwah), Gai Dessa Tehsil Bhagwah, and Niabat Sinoo (Gandoh).
During the day long Block Diwas proceedings and interaction programmes, public and PRIs put forth a range of issues/ demands. They demanded augmentation of water supply and electricity, macadamization of roads, meeting dearth of staff in schools and hospitals, upgradation of schools, banking facilities in rural areas, release of pending wages under MGNREGA etc.
The officers gave patient hearing to the issues and demands and directed the concerned officers to prepare a list of issues/grievances raised pertaining to their departments and resolve the same at an earliest.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dr Ravi Kumar Bharti attended Block Diwas proceedings at Gai Dessa along with Tehsildar and BDO of Bhagwah
Major demands of the raised by the public were, Road connectivity to PHC Dessa, Mallan, Shinkely and Bhatta villages, adequate teaching staff in Schools particularly at Govt HSS Mallan, posting of Doctors in local PHC, and developing Gai and its adjoining villages as Tourist destination.
The ADC urged officers to work in close coordination with the PRIs to achieve the set targets and to address the issues of public importance.
ADC Bhadarwah Chowdhary Dil Mir attended Block Diwas at Panchayat Ghar Dugli B. He assured public of time bound redressal of their demands in collaboration with concerned departments.
The program was attended by Tehsildar Bhalla, BDO Bhalla, Engineers of PMGSY, Jal Shakti PWD, officers and officials of I & FC, Agriculture, Horticulture, Sheep Husbandry RDD, Fisheries, Revenue and other departments.
Similarly, all the Sub Divisional Magistrates, Tehsildars and other officers participated in the Block Diwas programmes designated locations in their respective jurisdictions and made the public aware of welfare schemes.
