SSP holds crime, security review meeting at DPO Samba

SAMBA, May 11: Today SSP Samba, Dr. Abhishek Mahajan, IPS chaired a crime and security review meeting with all the Police Supervisory Officers and SHOs of District Samba at Conference Hall DPO Samba.
SSP during the meeting, reviewed the general crime position of all the Police Stations of the District. The NDPS cases and cases of Unlawful Activities under UA(P) Act were threadbare discussed by the chairing officer besides other cases of public interest. All the Officers were directed to gear up the investigation process and achieve maximum disposal to reduce the pendency. Supervisory officers and SHOs were asked for effective supervision, quality investigation, transparency and effectiveness in police functioning. Special drive be initiated against the violators of Traffic Rules under relevant sections of MV Act. Emphasis was also laid during the meeting to nab the absconders on merits.
The participants were directed to put an effective curbs on bovine smuggling activities and concrete efforts be made to eradicate the social evil of drug menace from the society. SSP Samba further exhorted upon all the Officers to identify drug addicts in their areas and motivate them to get admitted in Drug De-Addiction, Welfare, Awareness and Rehabilitation Institute (DDWARI), Gurah Slathian for their treatment, counselling and rehabilitation.
Also SSP Samba during the meeting took stock of present security scenario of the District in view of forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2022. All the jurisdictional officers present in the meeting were directed to strengthen security grid and to remain extra vigilant to avert any untoward incident in their area of responsibility.
