| PG Arts win in inter-college football | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 1: The combined side of Post Graduate (PG) Departments of University of Jammu registered a 2-1 victory over Degree College Poonch in the inter-college football competitions organised by Department of Physical Education at GGM Science College grounds, here today. Though, Poonch College opened the account scoring the first goal in the 10th minute through Sunny, yet PG Arts won the match fighting from behind. PG made the equalizer in the 45th minute ending the match in a 101 draw. Later, in the extra time, PG Arts emerged victorious with Raunchier scoring the all important goal. Gagan Kumar, Tanpreet Singh and Harmanjit Singh officiated today’s match. Meanwhile, in another match scheduled for today, Government MAM College got walkover Achrya Shri Chandra College of Medical Sciences (ASCOMS). Earlier, the competitions were inaugurated by Director Physical Education, University of Jammu, Prof Lokesh Verma. Principal GGM Science College, Prof Vijay Kotwal, Dr Vinod Bakshi, Dr Brij Balouria were among other prominent people present. Next matches: Science College to meet MAM College (Evening); PG Law and Sciences to face Bhargwa Degree College Samba; Degree College Bhaderwah to take on New Age College and Degree College Udhampur to play against Government SPMR College of Commerce tomorrow. WOMEN CRICKET: Government College for Women (GCW) Parade and PG Departments got walkovers on the opening round of inter-college women’s cricket tournament started today at University of Jammu grounds. While GCW Parade got walkover Degree College Udhampur, PG Departments were awarded walkover when Degree College Akhnoor failed to report the venue. |
