| Omar promises overseas employment corporation | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Chadoora, Dec 1: National Conference if voted to power will create a Corporation to tap overseas employment opportunities for the youth of the state, so that youth of the state can be gainfully employed outside the country as well, said Omar Abdullah President J&K National Conference while addressing public meeting in support of Ali Mohammad Dar party's candidate from Chadoora. Omar said that National Conference after coming to power will also train manpower to suite overseas requirement on the Kerala model and ensure that large number of youth get absorbed in jobs particularly in the Middle East and other developed countries. Omar accused former chief ministers Mufti Muhammad Sayeed and Ghulam Nabi Azad of playing with the careers of youth. "Their promise of providing jobs to unemployed youth remained confined to papers only, he said adding that they stand exposed before the masses as their claims of demilitarization, self rule and dual currency stand punctured". "The only thing which flourish during coalition regime is "corruption", Omar said adding that they (PDP-Congress) have failed to deliver and are unable to face the masses." Referring to the special economic package that coalition government had received from Govt. of India, Omar said, "the funds that were meant for people of the state were swindled by them". Omar said his party unlike the PDP & Congress does not believe in hollow slogans and false promises and as such he and his colleagues will never make promises that the party cannot live upto. He said National Conference if voted to power shall open new avenues for the young unemployed and ensure that in each household of the state there is atleast one earning hand who can sustain the family and shoulder its responsibilities. He also promised that the unemployed youth will be provided stipend till they are employed. Omar also promised that the National Conference if voted to power will fill the 70,000 posts lying vacant in various government departments through a fast track recruitment drive. He said the party (NC) after coming to power is committed to weed out unemployment and corruption from the state, which flourish during the coalition regime. Among others who addressed the meeting were Aga Syeed Rahoola, Devender Singh Rana, and Mohd Shafi Shaheen. |
