RAJOURI, May 14: District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal today visited Government Medical College and chaired a meeting of the GMC and PWD officers to review the functioning of the institution and facilities available for the students.
Officers who attended the meeting included CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; SE Hydraulics, JP Singh; SE PWD, Nissar Hussain; SE PDD, Roshan Lal; MS GMC, Mehmood Bajar; ExEn PWD Rajouri, Maqbool Hussain; ExEn Jal Shakti Rajouri, Mushtaq Ahmed; ExEn PDD Rajouri, Mohd Hasan and other concerned officers.
Taking stock of the progress on GMC Campus building, the meeting was informed that the project was approved at an estimated cost of Rs 139 crore.
Giving further details of the project, it was informed that the Administrative and Academic blocks are complete in all respects but the formal handover takeover was pending.
While reviewing the academic activities in the institution, the DDC asked the concerned authorities to ensure that quality education was provided to the students.
Discussing issues for the smooth functioning of the institution, the GMC Authorities highlighted a number of issues like inadequate water and power supply and sought the intervention of the District administration for smooth functioning of the institution.
The DDC assured appropriate measures to redress the genuine concerns within the shortest possible time in the larger interest of the students.
Meanwhile, the DDC also inspected the administrative Block, hostel block and basic facilities available for the students.
He also instructed the authorities to maintain proper cleanliness and sanitation in and around the institution. |
