| Qazi reviews urban facilities, stress for palatable, cities and towns | | | Srinagar, September 15 –Minister for Housing and Urban Development and Forests Qazi Mohammad Afzal has said that the government is making all out efforts to ensure better civic amenities to the people and asked them to maintain proper sanitation and environment in the urban areas. Qazi Afzal was presiding the meeting of officers of Housing and Urban Development Department at Town Hall Ganderbal, today. During the meeting threadbare discussions were made on the issues pertaining to construction of general bus-stand Ganderbal, construction of 200-bed hospital, dumping site, shopping complex, development of idd-gah, different lands identified for parks and play fields, town drainage and street lights etc. The meeting was informed that Rs. 35 lakh have been allocated for Ganderbal Municipal Committee during the current financial year. Addressing the meeting, the Minister asked the officers to make proper utilization of available funds and maximize the benefits of the urban development schemes besides maintaining proper sanitation, drainage and cleaning in their respective wards. The Minister asked the concerned authorities to submit a comprehensive project report for construction of building of sanitation staff. Among others Director Local Bodies Mr. Mohammad Abass Dar, President Municipal Committee Ganderbal Haji Ghulam Mohammad Lone and other Municipal Corporators were present in the meeting. |
