| Niaz on campaigning spree for Azad | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Bhaderwah, Dec 1: Former Minister and sitting Member Legislative Council Mohammad Sharief Niaz addressed a series of election meetings at Changa, Gandoh, Bhella , Malnie, Bhalla and Seribazar of Bhaderwah in support of former Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi, who is seeking re-election from Bhaderwah constituency. Lauding the achievements of Congress government under the dynamic leadership of Azad, Niaz expressed his optimism that Azad led Congress government will form the government in the state. He said that during last two and a half years’ rule of Congress party, the masses have observed remarkable developmental activities in all the sectors. He said in erstwhile Doda District alone two more districts were created, University Campus set up at Bhaderwah, opened Degree Colleges at several places, ITI centres, Tourism Development authorities, Hospitals, road connectivity and bridges at several places besides opening scores of Higher Secondary Schools, upgrading High and Middle Schools and opening of new primary schools and dispensaries. Coming down heavily on the BJP for alleged discrimination with Jammu region, the Congress leader said that it goes to the credit of the Congress party to set up separate Directorates for Social Welfare, Rural Development, Tourism and Horticulture Departments. He charged the BJP for propagating communalism for their political gains and said that no developmental activities, including special package, to the state was given by the BJP when they were in power at Centre during NDA rule. He also charged NC for ignoring Doda District particularly in respect of developmental activities including Tourism sector during its twenty seven year rule. |
