| Parties apprised of EVM randomization in Udhampur | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
UDHAMPUR, DEC 1: To apprise the representatives of various political parties about the automatic randomization of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) on computer, the District Election Officer (DEO), Udhampur, Mr. Ajay Khajuria held a practical demonstration session, here today.
The Election Observer for Udhampur and Chenani Assembly constituencies, Mr. Rajiv Omkar Nath Jalota, the Election Observer for Ramnagar constituency, Mr. Ashok Kumar Shah, Returning Officer, Udhampur constituency, Mr. N. I. Parae, Liaison Officers with Observers, District Informatics Officer, Udhampur and representatives of various political parties were present on the occasion.
The DEO apprised the representatives of political parties that randomization of EVMs has been completed on computer which automatically executes the randomization process transparently after allotting a code and pressing the button on the computer. The first randomization indicates the list of EVMs sent to all the constituencies of the district while the second randomization depicts the details of EVMs distributed to polling stations.
On the occasion, practical demonstration on screen was given for the appraisal of political parties by the District Informatics Officer, Mr. Anil Sharma. |
