| 72 papers found valid in 4 Kulgam, 106 in Anantnag | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, Dec 1: As many as 72 nomination papers against 78 nominations filed were found valid after conducting of scrutiny today in four constituencies of Noorabad, Kulgam, Home Shalibugh and Devsar of Kulgam district. This way, 16 candidates would contest from Noorabad, 19 from Kulgam, 14 from Home Shalibugh and 23 from Devsar constituency. Four women are also among the contestants besides 9 independent candidates. Out of the 115 nomination papers filed for six Assembly constituencies of Anantnag district, 106 nominations were found valid after scrunity, while 8 nominations were rejected and decision for one nomination paper was kept pending till tomorrow. The scrutiny for the nomination papers was held at the respective headquarters of the Returning Officers of the six Assembly constituencies today. For Anantnag constituency, 24 nomination papers were found valid while 2 nomination papers were rejected. In Dooru Assembly constituency, 21 nomination papers were found valid while as 2 nomination papers were rejected. In Shangus Assembly constituency, 17 nomination papers out of 20 filed were declared valid while 3 nomination papers were rejected. In Kokernag 20 nomination papers were found valid whileas one nomination paper was rejected. In Pahalgam Assembly constituency all the 12 nomination papers were found valid. In Bijbehara Assembly constituency, 12 nomination papers were found valid while as decision for one disputed nomination has been kept pending till tomorrow. |
