| PDP, NC acitivists clash in Rafiabad | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, Dec 1:Activists of Peoples Democratic Party PDP and the National Conference NC clashed at Budgam and Rafiabad in North Kashmir, resulting in injuries to 16 activists. In Rafiabad NC filed a case against PDP workers asking police to take action against the PCP activists. Senior police officials told PBI, that workers of PDP and NC clashed at Bugam in Chadoora on Monday after the two rival parties faced each other during electioneering. According to police activists of NC and PDP shouted slogans on seeing each other and soon both hurled stones and firepots towards each other. One CRPF trooper of 171 battalion G Banderwa also sustained injuries during the scuffle. Police said that four activists of NC identified as Mohammad Yusuf, Jalal-u-din, Imtiyaz Ahmad and Ghulam Mohammad were injured. The injured have been shifted to SMHS hospital in Srinagar. Elsewhere, in Rafiabad PDP and NC activists clashed after the former were involved in damaging the banners setup by NC candidate Javed Ahmad Dar. According to PBI, supporters of Dar started hurling stones on PDP activists who retaliated causing injuries to almost a dozen of supporters from both sides. Later NC registered a case against PDP workers asking police to take stern action against them. |
