BGSBU organises Business and Entrepreneurship Conclave

JAMMU, May 19: Centre for Hospitality and Tourism, School of Management Studies, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Rajouri organised a Business and Entrepreneurship Conclave in collaboration with Himalayan Express.
Vice Chancellor, Prof. Akbar Masood said that this conclave , which aimed at connecting entrepreneurial minds from industry and academia, embodies our conviction of developing young men and women who will contribute in making India an economic super power. Congratulating the Centre for Hospitality and Tourism for organising the event , Prof. Akbar said that this conclave would provide an enabling platform to aspiring entrepreneurs, researcher, investors and experts from industry to learn and connect with each other on a range of business ideas.
Prof. Akbar said that India with rising economy and emerging business opportunities stands to be a developing global platform. Initiatives like 'Start-Up India' and 'Make in India' are critical towards Atma Nirbhar Bharat.
On the occasion,Prof. Akbar announced the establishment of Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development in the University campus which will act as a institutional mechanism for providing various services to budding entrepreneurs, whether students, alumni or the community at large. Prof. Akbar said that CIED will help in fostering the entrepreneurial culture and creating an enabling environment for innovations and entrepreneurship.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Iqbal Parwez , Dean Academic Affairs said that this Business and Entrepreneurship Conclave is an attempt to provide a platform for thought-provoking discussions on pertinent new age themes related to business and Entrepreneurship. Prof. Iqbal said that the conclave also provides an opportunity to students for one-on-one engagements with mentors, experts, investors, and professional service providers .
Dr. Danish Iqbal Raina, Deputy Director, Centre for Hospitality and Tourism delivered wellcome address. In his address Dr. Raina said that this conclave gives a golden opportunity to inquisitive minds to interact with and get inspired by these leaders. Dr. Raina highlighted the role of BGSBU in promoting entreprenurial culture among students and scholars of the University.
Successful entrepreneurs who spoke on the occasion and interacted with students included Tahir Rufayee , MD TR Group of Companies, Dr.Preeti Kashyap ,MD JMD Herbal Extractions, Puneet Arora, Founder Eeetoo Bakery and Editor Early Post ( Daily Newspaper) and Thomas , MD IDDO Global Private Limited ,CEO Vollz Cab.
Mamta Chowdhury, Head department of Management Studies also share views on the occasion. Those who were present on the occasion included Dr. Parwez Abdullah, Dr. Javed Iqbal, Dr. Kafeel Ahmed, Dr. Vinay Kumar, Asrar Ghaus, Dr. Shahnawaz Chowdhury, Dr. Shiraz Malik, Dr. Farkanda Ana, research scholars and students of School of Management studies. Dr. Jatinder Kumar presented vote of thanks and Priyanka Khajuria conducted the proceedings of the event.
