Doda police bust gang of burglars; Ex Sarpanch among 4 booked, stolen property recovered

DODA, May 19: Doda police today claim to have busted gang of burglars involved in stealing the batteries of the vehicle and booked 4 persons including Ex Sarpanch and his son while at the same time also recovered the stolen property from the accused persons.
As per the details available with Early Times, in an official statement, SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom said that Police Station Doda arrested 4 thieves from Doda area and recovered 33 stolen batteries of vehicles.
It is pertinent to mention here that Police station Doda received many complaints regarding theft of vehicles batteries during night from parts of Doda town and accordingly a team was constituted headed by I/C PP DH Doda ASI Ashwani Kumar under the supervision of DySP Hqrs. Doda Jaswant Singh and on the basis of some technical and human leads said team managed to arrest 4 suspects from Doda town who during interrogation confessed their involvement.
After their disclosures investigating team recovered 33 stolen vehicles batteries from a scrap dealers shop of Qamar Din who is also an ex sarpanch.
During initial investigation, it came to fore that during early morning between 3:30 AM to 6 AM, the burglars of the gang used to first break the glass of vehicle followed by stealing of batteries and than sell to the scrap dealer namely Qamar Din near pull Doda. Sofar Doda police arrested 4 accused namely.
1) Mohd Irfan S/O Abdul Rashid Sheikh R/O Baboor.
2)Aftab Ahmed S/O Mohd Shafi R/O Paryote
3)Qamar Din S/O Mohd Yousaf R/O Pull Doda Ex-Sarpanch (Scrap dealer)
4)Tanveer Ahmed S/O Qamar Din R/O Pull Doda (Scrap dealer).
It is pertinent to mention here that ex sarpanch namely Qamar Din was was also booked in 2017 in same offences.
SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom said that further legal formalities and investigation into the matter is going on.
