| Army distributes solar lanterns | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Dec 1: In its effort to improve the living standards of people of Jammu and Kashmir, 17 Solar Lanterns were distributed to villagers of Chumma village in Kalakote Tehsil of Rajouri district today.
The village of Chumma, comprising a population of 150, mainly Gujjars and Bakkarwal families, is remotely located and has not yet been provided with electricity. On the request of the local populace, a unit of Budhal Brigade undertook the task of providing solar lanterns to poor villagers under Operation Sadbhavana. After receiving the solar lanterns, the locals were grateful and thanked Army for the noble gesture. |
