Mayor, Deputy Mayor reviews ongoing work of parking site at Panjtirthi

JAMMU, May 20: Chander Mohan Gupta Mayor alongwith Advocate Purnima Sharma Deputy Mayor, Raj Kumar Chairman Public Health & Sanitation Committee JMC, Hardeep Singh Mankotia Chairman Swachh Bharat Committee, Ajay Gupta Chairman Social Justice Committee today conducted an extensive tour of Panjtirthi area and took stock of the ongoing construction work of multistorey parking at this site which is being executed by Project Division of JMC.
Dinesh Gupta, Dr. Akshay Kumar Sharma, Madam Sunita Gupta Municipal Councillors who are also the members of Executive Committee JMC as well as Firdos Ahmed Qazi Executive Engineer, Raj Kumar Khajuria Assistant Executive Engineer, Mr. Mohit Gupta Junior Engineer and other supervisory staff of project Division JMC also accompanied the mayor during the tour of the parking site.
Mayor was apprised by the concerned project Division that more than 70% of the work has been completed and assure that this prestigious project will be dedicated for citizens of Jammu in the month of July or August 2022.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor told that this seven storey parking slot has the capacity of parking of about 250 four wheelers as well as more than 150 two wheelers and it will be completed with an estimate cost of Rs 24 Crore only. He further told that there is also a proposal of developing a well furnished Coffee House at this site as large number of tourists and general public passes through this area.
Advocate Purnima Sharma, Deputy Mayor also spoke on the occasion and told that after the completion of this parking site, the people of old city areas like Panjtirthi, Pacca Danga, Kachi Chawni & its adjoining localities who are facing great hardships due to lack of parking place will be benefited a lot.
Besides this, Mayor & other dignitaries also conducted the tour of Sidhra & reviews the ongoing construction work of a Welcome Gate near Sidhra Bridge which is also being constructed by Project Division of JMC.
Mayor told that on the demands of the locals & concerned councillor of ward, the construction work of welcome Gate which was started a few months back at the entry point of Jammu City will be got completed shortly.
He further appeals to the citizens of Jammu to come forward & cooperate with JMC & other allied departments in all the development activities being undertaken in various wards of the city so that Jammu can be made really a Smart City.
