2,722 service electors in Kathua

KATHUA, DEC 2: As many as 2,722 employees belonging to different Assembly constituencies of Kathua district are entitled to cast their votes by postal ballot. They include 330 for Bani Assembly constituency, 519 for Basohli, 766 for Kathua, 397 for Billawar and 710 for Hiranagar Assembly constituency.
While such employees shall cast their votes for Basohli and Hiranagar Assembly constituencies on December 4, the employees for Bani, Kathua and Billawar Assembly constituencies shall exercise their franchise on December 5. The polling shall commence at 10 a.m. and postal ballots shall be issued to the eligible employees who shall cast their votes there.
For the purpose, Postal Ballot Facilitation Centre shall be established under the charge of Assistant Returning Officer and two other officers in the respective constituencies. The Facilitation Centre for Bani shall be set up at Higher Secondary School, Bani, for Basohli at DIET Basohli, for Kathua at Town Hall, Kathua, for Billawar at Government Degree College, Billawar and for Hiranagar Assembly constituency, the Facilitation Centre shall be set up at Tehsil Office, Hiranagar.
All the eligible employees have been asked to apply with the concerned ROs by December 3/4 and obtain their PB forms.
The employees who have deposited their Form 12 but do not come for voting at the Facilitation Centre shall be sent their postal ballots by registered post, who have the option to send the same back to the concerned RO by the registered post or drop it in the drop box, which is being maintained at every RO office from November 30 onwards for receipt of postal ballots.
