| Zaffar says Jammu East victim of wrong planning | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Dec 2: Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Party Nationalist (DPN) candidate from Jammu-East assembly constituency Zaffar Javed Ahmad Khan today said irrespective of elections, he is continuing to work towards making Jammu-East a model constituency. Zaffar was addressing meetings after inaugurating election offices at Jain Bazar and Dhaunthly bazaar. The constituency, he said, needs special attention as a good amount of public money was being wasted on unproductive works. The area which has natural slopes, better open spaces, river bank and wide roads needs a simple planning to enable its inhabitants feel proud of their constituency. Contrary to the fact, he said the planners have made a mess of the old city thereby making the life of general public hell. The DPN, he said was also in favour of spending public money judiciously so that actual need based works are taken up. He alleged that no agency takes the people of the area into confidence before initiating any civil work thereby causing huge loss to tax payer’s money. It was unfortunate that many candidates were campaigning on the name of the religion, region and caste which was sending a wrong message amongst the young generation, he said. The youth of the society, he said need development and a peace loving atmosphere where they could study, develop and work in most congenial atmosphere but some leaders were trying to divide them for seeking their votes. He urged the youth to come in large numbers and vote for their future which he added lies in their hands only. He urged people to vote him to power so that clean politics could be pursued and people’s faith in the leaders restored. |
