Mayor kick starts development works in ware house area

Jammu, May 25: Continuing his endeavour to provide more & batter development amenities in various parts of the city, Mayor JMC Chander Mohan Gupta today alongwith Sh. Amit Gupta Councillor of ward no. 19 conducted an extensive tour in ware House, Nehru market and kick started the development works in the area.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor told that ware House market is one of the oldest wholesale market of J&K and people from all the districts of J&K visits in this market on daily basis for purchasing all types of essential as well as other items which are available at reasonable/ whole sale rates in this market.
He further told that this market lack certain basic amenities in terms of renovation of nallah/ deep drains flowing through the area, Blacktopping on all the link roads of the markets, lifting of old mulba and garbage. Construction of public utilities as well as other allied facilities. He further told that keeping in view the strong protests and to redress the long pending grievances of the shopkeepers of ware house, he himself alongwith local councillor of the ward no. 19 Sh. Amit gupta, Mr. Manzoor Ahmed chief Engineer PWD, Senior Officers & Engineers of JDA, Executive Engineer alongwith supervisory staff of UEED, Dr. Vinod Sharma Health Officer JMC, Mr. Romesh Wazir Sanitation Officer & other supervisory staff of Transport & Health Section of JMC visited the site, met with Sh. Deepak Gupta President and other representatives of ware House market association and kick started construction/ renovation of deep drains/ nallah.
Besides this, existing safaikarmies alongwith sufficient numbers of vehicles were deployed for removing old mulba, garbage etc from the various corners of the market. He also issued on spot directions to the Health officer to take effective measures to maintain proper sanitation in the whole locality.
The work of Blacktopping on the main road as well as interior lanes were immediately started today while Chief Engineer PWD & officers of JDA were also directed to execute other development works while Xen UEED was instructed to execute the construction/renovation of nallah/ deep drains on urgent basis in consultation with the Hon’ble Councillor as well as representatives of ware House Association & get it completed within the stipulated time frame so that business community of ware house, Nehru market as well as general public who comes here in large numbers in connection with their routine business matters from all over the U.T of J&K may not suffer any more.
He also assured that every possible steps be taken in making ware House market really a smart, neat & clean market. President of ware House market on behalf of all the shopkeepers extended much gratitude to Mayor as well as councillor Sh. Amit Gupta for visiting the site and considering their much needed & genuine demands and also assured that they will provide full cooperation to JMC & other allied departments in the ongoing development activities and keeping hygienic conditions in the market.
