Mayor inspects phe Sub Division Shakti Nagar, also reviews meeting of nbcc & ueed

Jammu May 26: With an aim to minimize the sufferings of the general public regarding Jal Shakti Department and to ensure proper water supply position in the Jammu City, Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor JMC alongwith Sh. Surinder Choudhary Councillor of ward no. 29 today paid surprise inspection of PHE Sub Division near A.G Office, Shakti Nagar Jammu & took stock of the water supply position from this station of Shakti Nagar & its adjoining areas.
Mr. Anil Katoch Assistant Executive Engineer, Mr. Vikas Sharma & Mr. Rajinder Sharma both Assistant Engineers of PHE, Mr. Raman Verma Junior Engineer & other supervisory staff of concerned PHE pumping station, Mr. Ramesh Wazir Sanitation Officer JMC alongwith his concerned sanitation staff as well as Mr. Krishan Lal, Mr. Suresh Gupta, Mr. Karan Sharma & other prominent inhabitants of the locality were also accompanied the Mayor during the tour.
He issued on spot instructions to the concerned Engineers of Jal Shakti Department to take every preventive measures by way of plugging the leakage of PHE water pipes flowing in the locality, make necessary & timely repair works at all the pumping stations & maintain proper cleanliness in & around the pumping stations & make it sure that the field staff remain present during their allotted duty hours. He also listened to issues which the PHE staff are facing and assured that all their genuine grievances will be sort out in a time bound manner.
Besides this, Mayor also chaired a meeting of NBCC & UEED in presence of Advocate Purnima Sharma Deputy Mayor. Dr. Akshay Kumar Sharma councillor of ward no. 8, Mr. Anil Kumar Masoom Councillor of ward no. 10, Mr. Narotam Sharma councillor of ward no. 3, Mr. Suneet Kumar Raina Councillor of ward no. 9, Mr. Gopal Gupta Councillor of ward no. 5 , Madam Sandhya Gupta Councillor of ward no. 15, Madam Sunita Koul Councillor of ward no. 4, Madam Anita Sharma councillor of Ward no. 11 as well as Mr. Shiv Kumar Gupta Executive Engineer (UEED) Mr. Rajesh Khajuria Assistant Executive Engineer (UEED), Mr. Manoj Kumar Junior Engineer (UEED), Mr. Aditya Kumar General Manager NBCC, concerned contractors & other supervisory staff of NBCC & UEED were also remained present in the meeting.
All the councillors representing the old Jammu City wards raised in one voice their burning issues pertaining to NBCC & UEED and said that citizens especially residing in Panjtirthi, Pacca Danga, Purani Mandi & other adjoining areas are suffering a lot due to non completion of work undertaken by NBCC. Mayor directed strictly to the officers of both the department to take concrete measures & execute all the pending works on top priority basis so that the general public may not suffer any more. Engineers of UEED as well as NBCC assured the Hon’ble Coucillors present in the meeting that the remaining work will be got completed in the month of June 2022.
