Div Com Jammu reviews functioning of Revenue Deptt

Jammu, May 26: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar today chaired a marathon meeting of Revenue Experts and Deputy Commissioners to review the Revenue related issues in the districts of Jammu division.
The Meeting was attended in person by Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Avny Lavasa; Additional Commissioner with FCR Jammu, Rishpal Singh; Regional Director Survey and Land Records, Additional Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners with Div Com and other concerned officers, while the Deputy Commissioners of Jammu division along with ACRs, ADCs, participated in the meeting through video conferencing.
Threadbare discussions were held on various important issues, while the Div Com reviewed in detail status of Writing of Jamabandis, updation/ Digitisation of Jamabandis, status of writing of Khasra Girdawri Registers, attestation of pending mutations, delineation of land as Gair Mumkin Khad, distribution of passbooks and other important revenue matters. While reviewing progress of delineation exercise of land recorded as Gair Mumkin Khad, Nullah, Dariya etc, the Divisional Commissioner asked the Deputy Commissioners to expedite the process and send weekly segregation reports.
The Deputy Commissioners informed that the delineation process was in progress in all the districts.
Further, the Deputy Commissioners apprised the Divisional Commissioner about the progress achieved in the updation of Jamabandis in their respective districts. It was informed that the work of writing has almost been completed in all the districts while digitization was in progress.
The Div Com directed Deputy Commissioners to conduct random inspection (Partal) of some Jamabandis and ensure all are error free. He also instructed the DCs to set targets for the Tehsildars for completing the same in a time-bound manner.
The Div Com also reviewed the status of court cases pending in the districts and directed the DCs to expedite the disposal.
Regarding functioning of Patwar halqas, the Div Com asked the DCs to shift the Patwar Khanas in government buildings available in their respective jurisdictions for smooth functioning. He also directed the DCs to expedite progress of distribution of pass books in the districts. Meanwhile, the Div Com also reviewed the arrangements for conduct of District Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee elections. He directed the DCs to make all necessary arrangements for smooth conduct of elections. He asked DCs to nominate ROs, AROs, identify polling Stations and also submit electoral rolls.
