Poonch admin hosting 2 Day Mega Cultural & Craft Mela from May 28

POONCH, May 26: Additional Deputy Commissioner, Poonch, Dr. Basharat Hussain today convened a meeting of the concerned officers to finalize the arrangements for the smooth and successful conduct of the Poonch Cultural and Craft Mela being organised by the department of Culture, J&K from May 28, 2022. The meeting took a detailed stock of arrangements, including Seating arrangement, artist accommodation, provision of water & power supply, cleanliness at the venue, space for installation of Food stalls, departmental stalls, stalls displaying local art and craft, Media gallery, provision of Health facilities and various other arrangements. The Additional Deputy Commissioner directed the Principals of Govt. Degree College Poonch, Boys Hr. Sec. Poonch, Girls Hr. Sec. Poonch and Warden of Boys & Girls Hostel to arrange the accommodation for the artists. The meeting was informed that the local artists, as well as the artists from outside UT would participate in the event. The event would include a cultural programme to be organised on the College grounds. The Additional Deputy Commissioner called upon the concerned officers to work in coordination and cohesion for the smooth conduct of the 2-day event. He emphasized on making all the requisite arrangements well in advance and formulating a viable plan for organizing the commemorative activities for the event. The ADC instructed Jal Shakti and JPDCL to make arrangements for uninterrupted power and water supply, while the health department was asked to make available healthcare facilities at the venue. The Executive Officer Municipal Council was instructed to ensure cleanliness in and around the college ground. The Police and Traffic departments were also asked to ensure foolproof security and traffic regulation during the festival.
