| SBI declared best banker | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Dec 2: State Bank of India was adjudged the Best Bank of the Year 2008 by London based ‘The Banker’ magazine of Financial Times Group. This award is decided on the basis of intensive research and analysis of financials and performance of prominent Banks, and clearly SBI emerged as the winner and the Best Bank in the country. This year’s Annual Bank of the year 2008 awards presentation was held at the Ballroom of The Dorchester Hotel, London on November 26, 2008 at an impressive ceremony attended by CEOs and Heads of commercial Banks from over 116 countries. O.P. Bhatt, Chairman, State Bank of India received the award from Stephen Timeswell, Editor-in-Chief of ‘The Banker’. The event was hosted by Michael Buerk, eminent journalist and newsreader, BBC. |
